Posted October 14, 2013 My focus is really lacking power and I noticed a new slight whine from (i think) the turbo. Not sure if its dirty or its on its way out but considering the type of damage you would get from a blown turbo I decided to purchase a refurbished unit from ebay for about 300 quid.

Mon 19 Jul 2010 23:58. Ford Focus 2005 TDCI 1.6L - Lack of Turbo boost - elekie&a/c doctor. Usual situation with these is the turbo shaft shears so that the air input impellor spins but you will probably find the exhaust impellor has seized.As a minimum ,you will need a turbo and oil feed pipe and certainly an oil and filter change
Posted January 26, 2023. 1.6 petrol & diesel are totally different in terms of the belt change. 3-4 hours for 1.6 TDCI belt & pump sounds fine for an independent. (Especially when they're losing their parts markup lol.) I'd only expect under 3 hours for someone that's done many of these belts - main dealer or specific 'cambelt only' type shop.

Takes me back a few years. Just after I bought my 55 tdci Mondeo from dealer where I paid for extended warranty which also covered turbocoil light came on, they diagnosed actuator which of course wasn't part of the turbo regardless of what Ford might tell you, "sorry guv".

I have a 2006 1.6 tdci and in January my turbo failed. I had it replaced and it lasted for 800 miles then the new turbo failed. This has happen four times now. Each time I have taken it back to my local ford dealer. They have replaced it each time until now.
Hi, Just found out the number on my ABS pump unit is 10.0206-0301.4 and it has 47 pins for the connector. Its a Focus 1.6tdci (07) - automatic. Looking on the internet, I see this part with exact part number fit also on different cars like: 1.8 petrol - 5 gear transmission, 1.4, 2.0!

Recirculated exhaust gas enters the air intake at the manifold, which is a long way after the turbo. Exhaust gasses leaving the engine drive the turbo by acting on the turbine.
